Volunteer With Vets R&R

Your Time. Their Healing. Our Mission.

Our volunteers are the heart of Vets R&R. Whether you're helping care for our farm or creating a peaceful retreat experience for women veterans, your time makes a meaningful difference.

We offer two ways to get involved.

Women Veterans Retreat Volunteers

Help us create a safe, welcoming place for women who have served.

We are building a team of 4–6 volunteers to support our monthly Women Veterans R&R Retreats.

Opportunities include:

  • Retreat Coordinators (2 needed): Train alongside our leadership to plan, organize, and eventually lead retreats when needed.

  • B&B Preparation & Reset: Help prepare the guest accommodations and restore the property after each retreat.

  • Food Preparation: Assist with meals, refreshments, and occasional cleanup.

We typically need 2–3 volunteers per retreat, so you won't be expected to commit every month.

Female volunteers are sought for retreat leadership and in-house responsibilities to preserve the privacy and comfort of our women veterans. Men and women are welcome to assist with advance food preparation and cleanup outside participant activities.

Training is provided. Reliability, compassion, and respect for privacy are essential.

Farm & General Volunteers

Help keep our farm safe, welcoming, and ready for our veterans.

Our 60-acre farm offers a variety of volunteer opportunities, including:

  • Barn chores and horse care assistance

  • Property maintenance and trail clearing

  • Farrier Days and special projects

  • Veteran gatherings and community events

  • Event setup, organization, and cleanup

No horse experience is necessary for most opportunities. Whether you can help regularly or occasionally, we appreciate your time.

Vets R&R is a Veteran-focused nonprofit organization.

Our volunteer program exists to support the mission of serving Veterans—not as an “earn-to-ride” or recreational horse program.

While volunteers may occasionally interact with horses as part of farm responsibilities, volunteer positions are centered around helping maintain and operate the property and retreat environment.

We ask volunteers to:

  • Commit to a schedule or event that works for them

  • Communicate consistently and reliably

  • Be willing to assist wherever help is needed

  • Support the mission and atmosphere of the organization

As we continue building this program, we hope to offer future volunteer appreciation days where volunteers can relax and enjoy the property themselves.

Right now, however, our primary focus is building a strong foundation so we can continue serving Veterans well.
