Volunteer With Purpose

Help Us Support Veterans

Vets R&R exists to provide Veterans with a peaceful place to rest, recharge, and reconnect.

To make that possible, we rely on volunteers who are willing to help care for the property, support events, and assist with the everyday work that keeps our organization moving forward.

This is more than volunteering on a farm—it’s helping create a space where Veterans can breathe, decompress, and feel supported.

Supporting the Mission

While horses are part of our environment, much of the volunteer work at Vets R&R focuses on maintaining the property and supporting retreat activities.

Volunteer opportunities may include:

  • Property maintenance

  • Trail clearing and mowing

  • Cleaning and organizing

  • Barn chores

  • Event setup and support

  • General farm upkeep

  • Assisting with retreat preparation

There is always something that needs doing, and every task helps us continue serving Veterans.

Vets R&R is a Veteran-focused nonprofit organization.

Our volunteer program exists to support the mission of serving Veterans—not as an “earn-to-ride” or recreational horse program.

While volunteers may occasionally interact with horses as part of farm responsibilities, volunteer positions are centered around helping maintain and operate the property and retreat environment.

We ask volunteers to:

  • Commit to a schedule or event that works for them

  • Communicate consistently and reliably

  • Be willing to assist wherever help is needed

  • Support the mission and atmosphere of the organization

As we continue building this program, we hope to offer future volunteer appreciation days where volunteers can relax and enjoy the property themselves.

Right now, however, our primary focus is building a strong foundation so we can continue serving Veterans well.
