Team Rubicon (Gate Resetting)
Team Rubicon (Gate Resetting)
Sat, May 17, 20259:00 AM Sun, May 18, 20255:00 PM
Help Us Welcome Team Rubicon – Volunteer & Support Opportunity | May 17–18
We are honored to host a team from Team Rubicon the weekend of May 17–18 for a weekend of service, community, and impact. Team Rubicon is a veteran-led disaster response and service organization that mobilizes veterans and first responders to assist communities in need. With their unique blend of skills and dedication, these volunteers continue their service long after their uniforms are hung up—restoring not just physical spaces, but hope, resilience, and connection.
What’s the Mission?
During this special visit, a team of 10 Team Rubicon volunteers will be helping us reset and reinforce our pasture gates—critical infrastructure that ensures the safety and ease of movement for our horses. These improvements support not just our animals' well-being, but also the veterans who find healing, peace, and purpose through our programs.
How You Can Help:
While Team Rubicon handles the heavy lifting on the gates, we’re asking our community to pitch in on the “behind-the-scenes” support that makes this all possible:
🧹 General Support Volunteers – Help with light tasks like cleaning, moving materials, and anything else that helps the work run smoothly.
🥪 Meal Support – Provide or help serve lunch on both Saturday and Sunday, and dinner on Saturday evening. A clean-up and prep crew would be especially helpful so our focus stays on the task at hand.
🛏️ Accommodation Clean-Up – On Sunday, May 18, between 4–6pm, we’ll need 1–2 volunteers to assist with cleaning and resetting the accommodations we’ve secured for the visiting team.
💡 Other Needs – If you have experience hosting groups or just love lending a hand, we’d love your help with any extras that come up—whether that’s grabbing extra supplies, lending out folding chairs, or just showing up with a smile and good energy.
Want to Donate Instead?
Not able to volunteer but want to help? Donations—whether financial or in-kind—are deeply appreciated. Your support helps us provide meals, supplies, and a warm welcome for this hardworking team.
📅 Event Dates:
Saturday, May 17 – Sunday, May 18
⏰ Flexible volunteer shifts throughout the weekend
📍 Location details and volunteer sign-up link Event Volunteer
Let’s show Team Rubicon the power of our community. Whether it’s a few hours or a full day, your time and support will make a real difference.
Thank you for being a part of something meaningful.

Spring Clean Up
Join Us for Our 2nd Annual Farm Clean-Up Day!
Veterans Equine Trail Services (VETS) is hosting our 2nd Annual Farm Clean-Up Day, and we’d love your help! Last year, we focused on sorting, organizing, and general clean-up. This year, our main goal is to clear out and deep-clean the hay mow—removing dirt and debris to keep our barn cleaner.
How You Can Help:
🔹 Manual clean-up (sweeping, organizing, hauling items)
🔹 Brushwacking, tree trimming, dirt moving
🔹 Tractor work (back blade, farm-related tasks)
Details:
📍 Location: Veterans Equine Trail Services, 21472 McKinney Rd, La Valle WI
🍽️ Lunch & refreshments provided!
This is a great opportunity for students needing volunteer hours—just bring your paperwork! We also welcome businesses willing to donate their time, skills, and equipment. If you or your company can help with larger farm projects on another day, let’s coordinate!
