Rescued Horses
Blondie
🐴 Meet Blondie — A Survivor on the Road to Recovery
Blondie came to us from an unimaginable situation — neglected, malnourished, and covered in abrasions from prolonged confinement in unsanitary, unsafe conditions. When we brought her in, she weighed just 706 lbs — shockingly underweight for her height of 15.3 hands high. A horse her size should weigh around 1,200 lbs.
She has a long road ahead — but she’s finally safe, and she’s finally home.
💔 Current Condition:
Severely underweight (nearly 500 lbs below healthy weight)
Multiple abrasions and hair loss due to prolonged exposure to filth and neglect
In fragile condition — requiring slow, controlled feeding increases
💪 Her Recovery Plan:
Blondie’s refeeding process will take at least 6 months of carefully managed nutrition and vet care. She’ll be gradually transitioned to a combination of:
Grain
Complete feed
Rice bran
Calf Manna
Alfalfa cubes
These high-calorie, high-quality feeds will help rebuild her strength without shocking her system.
🩺 Next Steps:
As she gains strength, Blondie will receive:
Vaccinations
A full dental check and float (if needed)
Professional farrier work (hoof trimming)
Continued wound care and routine vet visits
Your support is what makes this possible. Blondie’s vet bills have already begun, and ongoing care will require commitment, compassion, and community.

Robin
🤍 Meet Robin — Fighting for Two Lives
Robin’s story is one of quiet strength and heartbreaking uncertainty. When we were called to assist in a cruelty case, we had no idea that one of the mares we were helping was carrying new life inside her. She was so dangerously underweight, her ribs clearly visible, that pregnancy wasn’t even suspected — until our vet checked her during loading and found a faint but strong heartbeat.
Robin is pregnant — and now we’re fighting for both her life and her baby’s.
💔 Her Current Condition:
Severely malnourished: weighing just 600 lbs, we are not sure what she should weigh because of the pregnancy but this is far too thin for safe pregnancy
13.1 hands high,
Severe arthritis in both front legs, likely from prolonged standing in cramped, unhealthy conditions
Dehydrated and weak — but still standing, still trying
🩺 What Makes Robin’s Case So Fragile:
Because of the neglect she’s suffered, we don’t know:
How far along she is
If her body can carry to full term
If she and the foal will survive the pregnancy
We are walking a razor-thin line between rehabilitating Robin's body and protecting the life inside her. She requires a slower, more delicate feeding plan than the rest — every calorie matters, but it must be introduced gradually to avoid stress or system shock.
💖 Her Care Plan Includes:
A carefully controlled refeeding schedule
High-calorie, joint-safe nutrition (grain, complete feed, alfalfa cubes, and supplements)
Daily arthritis management and mobility support
Constant monitoring of both her condition and the foal’s status
Future prenatal vet care and delivery support — if we’re lucky enough to get there
Robin’s journey is uncertain — but every day she’s here is a miracle. And every day she fights, we fight beside her.

OLD MAN
🐴 Meet Old Man — The Watchful Guardian
Old Man is exactly what his name suggests — a wise soul who’s lived through more than he ever should have. When we responded to an emergency neglect case, he was part of a small, tightly bonded trio with Robin and Blondie — and we knew immediately we couldn’t leave him behind.
He wasn’t just surviving — he was protecting.
💔 His Current Condition:
Weighs just 704 lbs, nearly 500 lbs underweight for his 15.2-hand frame
Covered in abrasions and pressure sores, likely from poor shelter and rough surroundings
Emotionally tethered to Robin — their bond is deep, and his eyes tell the story of a long, hard life
Despite everything, Old Man never gave up. He stood by Robin’s side, underfed, battered, and aging — and now he’s finally somewhere safe, where he can rest and recover.
🩺 His Care Plan:
Like the others, Old Man’s healing will require:
A gradual refeeding process with high-quality, high-calorie feed (grain, complete feed, alfalfa cubes, etc.)
Treatment for his skin abrasions and wounds
Emotional stability and bonding time, especially with Robin close by
Veterinary evaluation for age-related conditions once he gains strength
He may be older, but Old Man deserves to live out his years in peace, with dignity and love.
🌾 How You Can Help Old Man:
Your donation ensures that Old Man gets the food, veterinary care, and safety he’s waited his entire life for. He’s made it through the worst — help us give him the best.
Every day he wakes up in clean bedding, with a full belly and his friends nearby, is a step toward healing. Thank you for seeing the worth in a life that others cast aside.
Cookies and Cream &
Baby Alice
🐴 Meet Cookies & Cream and Baby Alice — A Mother’s Strength, A Baby’s First Breath of Freedom
When we found Cookies and Cream (CC) and her 6-week-old foal Alice, they were locked inside a dark, suffocating stall in a pole barn. There was no sunlight, no clean space, no escape. Mama CC stood in manure so deep it reached her belly, and baby Alice had nowhere clean to lay or walk. They were breathing in ammonia fumes, living in filth, and slowly fading.
💔 A Scene of Heartbreaking Neglect:
CC was so caked in manure that you couldn’t see her beautiful spotted coat
When she relieved herself, the urine splashed onto Alice, causing painful hair loss and skin thinning
Baby Alice was born and raised in filth, having never seen the outside world until the day we brought her home
🩺 Their Current Condition:
CC has skin sloughing, with hair already falling out in large patches
Baby Alice is still being gently introduced to human contact — semi-feral and terrified, but curious
Both are infested with internal parasites — deworming must be slow and gentle to avoid system shock
We have not weighed CC yet — her skin is too fragile for a tape, and every touch must be gentle
The pair is now safely housed in our arena, where they are slowly rinsed, allowed to roll in sand, and carefully monitored by a vet
🐾 The Road Ahead:
CC and Alice will need:
Specialized topical ointments to protect their thinning skin
Gradual, non-invasive grooming to remove toxic buildup
Slow, nourishing feed programs to rebuild their systems
Gentle halter training and socialization for Alice
Deworming, vet visits, and skin healing treatments — all monitored closely to prevent stress
💖 This is the very beginning of their second chance.
These two innocent lives survived the unthinkable. Now, we need your help to carry them through their recovery.
🌟 You Can Make the Difference:
Every donation helps us provide:
Safe shelter, nutrition, and medical care
Vet-supervised treatments and skin support
Socialization and training for Alice — so she can learn what love feels like
From darkness and ammonia to daylight and dignity — CC and Alice deserve this second chance.
And thanks to you, they finally have it.
